Castelion Beaded Gothic Finger Plate This beautiful fingerplate with an elegant shape. Sweeping flat sides curve to a point at both top and bottom. Intricately decorated with classical leaf sprays and an ornate beading pattern. The centre button projects slightly to produce a most pleasing overall design. Perfect for period homes and restoration projects. Cast in solid brass from an original Victorian pattern Hand polished with an unlacquered finish. Will endure a lifetime of daily use. Dimensions: Height: 255mm (10") point to point Width: 68mm (2⅔") Fixing hole spacing: 180mm (7") by 37mm (1½") centre to centre Price is for one fingerplate. How they are made These fingerplates are "sand cast" - the same process used to make the original Victorian fingerplates. Molten brass is poured into sand moulds, formed using an antique pattern. When cool, the casts are hand-finished and polished. This provides the authentic antique style. How to care for your brass finger plates Brass finger plates develop a mature and mellow patina over time. Many people love this traditional look, but if you feel the brass is getting dirty and covered in grime then you can clean your fingerplate with lukewarm soapy water and a soft brush or lint-free cloth. Avoid using abrasive materials as they can scratch the surface of the brass. For a more radiant sheen, use a good quality brass polish.
